So here is how my quick trip to New Orleans happened via gchat:
Friend: I have to go to New Orleans for work at the end of March, you should come!
Me: Let me see how much the flights are.
Friend: Okay it is during the week so take note of that, March 26-29th
Me: Ummm…Okay, see you March 26-29!
Friend: Wait? What? You are coming?!
Me: Hell yes! That flight was $196, round trip and direct. I could not get my wallet out of my purse fast enough to click purchase!
Now I have not been to Nawlins’ ever as an adult, and my last trip there was nearly 16 years ago. Very much not of age to do much drinking nor was my food palate developed yet. Here are some pics of things I did, ate, and enjoyed during my stay. Not to mention pre-Katrina New Orleans had such rich attraction and culture, and now even more post-Katrina it is that much more intriguing and appealing for all. My small list of ABSOLUTES included eating redfish, beignets, shrimp po’ boy, gumbo, drinking a hand grenade, and catching and dancing to a live brass band. I completed the entire list but not in the manner in which I had envisioned of course, because the rain, oh the rain it fell down upon us. Nonetheless, the food, the atmosphere the people. Culture. History. YES!! Sums up my New Orleans experience.
My farewell to NYC selfie, little did I know that my “light” favorite camo jacket (similar) was not going to be enough for NOLA.
Proper passport cover for traveling me, not mention the perfect gift from one of my nearest and dearest.
Possibly the most beautiful gift from God is to see your friends transition full circle from college buds who ride or die to mommy’s that make adorable little munchkins.
Best Friend Forever (or at least while she is little)
Landry’s was not on the listed tour stops however since my first choice had a 90 minute wait , it was well worth the visit, as well as the mango mojioto’s we indulged in.
Please get that New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and Redfish Hemingway if/when you stop by here. Please.
This is just a snippet of the funners I had.
Come back for more, I have plenty to share on the rest of my trip.
XO,
EmJay
